Five Geese 2008 Shiraz

The 2008 five geese Shiraz has a very attractive, rich red colour; lifted spicy fruit/oak combination with that Blewitt Springs blackberry fruit and nutmeg complexity. Rich, ripe fruit flavours with spiciness and a pleasant soft tannin finish, lingers nicely with blackberry and spice. This wine is a mouth-full of flavour that is easy to drink now, however, it will reward with further time in the bottle.

2008 was a very difficult vintage in South Australia, with an extended hot spell, but this wine still retains the more elegant Blewitt Springs style, although a little more fruit forward than in some years. It is a little less savoury and more upfront than in previous years.
