Five Geese 2003 Shiraz

The 2003 vintage started with a hot and dry Spring and Summer followed by significant rainfall in February, resulting in lower yields. In spite of this, ripening occurred earlier than in the previous season and the flavours produced have all of the hallmarks of a superb McLaren Vale Shiraz.

The 2003 Five Geese Shiraz has a smooth, full-bodied palate exhibiting plenty of black fruit characters, with hints of fruitcake spices and a lingering milk chocolate finish. Our winemaker, Mike Farmilo, is very pleased that we have produced another great vintage, with striking similarities to the 2002 Shiraz. This wine has been crafted for immediate drinking, but will reward with careful cellaring.
